Neurotoxins in New England
How Do Neurotoxins Work?
When you visit for your first consultation at Thiesen MD, Dr. Thiesen will perform a skin assessment to determine which areas need treatment and which wrinkle-relaxing formula works best for you. Since both Dysport and BOTOX are performed during an efficient, in-office treatment, your injections can often be administered during the same appointment. The selected solution will be injected into the designated areas of your forehead or upper face using a small syringe. Injections typically take about 5 –10 minutes to complete, and many individuals notice only mild discomfort, such as a pinprick or pinching feeling. At the end of your session, you are free to leave our facility and resume your normal routine.
Whenever you take a look at yourself in the mirror, are you concerned about fine lines or wrinkles developing on your brow area and near your eyes? Commonly called dynamic wrinkles and lines, these skin changes occur due to repeated expressions, including smiling, squinting, and frowning. As people age, these wrinkles ultimately remain and can make them look less youthful. Thanks to cosmetic injections like Dysport® and BOTOX®, also known as neurotoxins, we have the ability to temporarily stop the appearance of moderate to severe Crow's feet, forehead creases, and frown lines. Both BOTOX® and Dysport® are made from a clean type A strain of botulinum toxin. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause those movements, letting the skin smooth itself over time. At Thiesen MD, our knowledgeable professionals are excited to provide BOTOX® and Dysport® injections at our Massachusetts and Rhode Island locations as minimally invasive aesthetic treatments to help individuals achieve smoother, renewed results. How much does adrenal fatigue treatment cost? It's important to note that the cost of adrenal fatigue treatment will be different from patient to patient. This is due to the fact that each person's body is wholly unique and will require something different. After your initial consultation, we will create a custom treatment plan, at which point we can provide a more accurate estimate of cost.
-
When can I expect to see results from adrenal fatigue treatment? Most of our patients tend to see results within just a few weeks of beginning their treatment with us. However, each patients body will respond to treatment differently, so it is not uncommon for patients to notice results even earlier or further into their treatment.
-
Are there foods that negatively affect adrenal fatigue?Yes. During your treatment, you will likely want to avoid foods that be setting back your positive results. Generally, these foods include anything with added sugar, white flower, and caffeine. When you begin your treatment, we can give you more in-depth information to help with your diet plan if necessary.

What causes imbalanced hormones in women?Hormonal imbalances in women can be caused by a variety of factors. These imbalances can result from natural life events such as menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause. Additionally, certain medical conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or thyroid disorders can also lead to hormonal disturbances. Lifestyle factors, including stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, and inadequate sleep, can contribute to hormonal imbalances in women as well. At Thiesen MD, Dr. Larry Thiesen will conduct thorough evaluations and hormone testing to identify the root cause of the hormonal imbalance prior to providing hormone therapy.
-
How do I know if my hormones are unbalanced?Hormonal imbalances can manifest in women in various ways and may present with a range of symptoms. Common signs of a hormonal imbalance in women include irregular or heavy periods, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, fatigue, weight changes, hair loss, and difficulty sleeping. Additionally, issues with fertility, low libido, and changes in skin texture may also indicate hormonal fluctuations. If you are experiencing persistent and bothersome symptoms, we recommend scheduling a consultation at Thiesen MD for hormone replacement therapy.
